Vassilopoula Tower, Myloi

The tower is built within an enclosure of almost rectangular plan. It consisted of a ground floor, one above and the roof terrace of which is still preserved the merlons, as are the weapons embrasures at the corners. The entrance was probably located on the west side, but since at this point the wall has collapsed, it is not clear whether it was on the first or ground floor. Upstairs there were large windows, one in the north, the south and possibly the western side, while on the east there were two. The windows were protected by machicolations, three of which are preserved today. Inside and on the upper floor the walls have their plaster coating, with built-in cupboards into them. This area was used as a living quarters, while the ground floor housed the auxiliary functions. It is built with both roughly hewn and field stones and plenty of binding material. The masonry of the enclosure wall is different, which probably represents a different time of construction.
